Week 12

I never got a chance to take pictures of the building at different times of day. I was never at the building unless it was dark and didn't have time during the day to go to get pictures.
Homework: I wish I could cut the top section off. I like the two windows but at the top, what is suppose to be the overhang, looks strange and blended together into a dark blob.
Classwork: This is the wet on dry and I don't like this technique at all. I don't like the layered affect you get from wet on dry and prefer the wet on wet, below. I prefer to blend when I am working with ink.

Week 11

Homework: Her face looks strange too me. I think I over exaggerated her cheek and her eyes look off. I did like doing a portrait from a photo, though.
Classwork: I was glad to work outside of the classroom and kinda enjoy this assignment. My perspective is off slightly but I'm glad I didn't try to do the hallway straight on and I actually like my vaccume the best.

Week 10

I could not, for the life of me, find examples of artists who effectively use a build up of markmaking. I'm not sure if I'm just not searching the right thing but my search results are useless.
Homework: I'm not fond of self portraits, especially using mark making. I can't seem to position myself to where I can keep a consistant view.
Classwork: I don't like doing such wide views, although it's not as bad as landscapes.

Week 9

My homework looks nothing like the place I was suppose to be depicting. Alot of the detail I couldn't see while working on it, so it is hard to tell what everything is.

Homework: I wish homework could have turned out as smoothly as classwork I didn't like doing a landscape with cross hatching and ink.

Classwork: I enjoyed this class assignment. I know I didn't complete the picture to the edge but I like the fading towards the edges.

Week 8

Homework: I disliked the homework more than the classwork. My marks appeared darker on the paper than in the picture and my lighting isn't direct enough to make an effective portrait.

Classwork: I like cross hatching but plain hatching makes me mad. I can never get all my lines going in the same direction and always tend to make them curve the farther I go with them.

Week 7

Homework: I didn't like doing this assignment. I can't see to well so doing a "landscape" in the dark didn't work too well. I prefer working on a still life as opposed to a portrait or landscape.

Classwork: I really like this piece. I wish all my work turned out like this one. I managed to get most of the lighting and positioning correct and I think my composition is interesting and shows depth.

Week 6

Homework: I had trouble with the branch that was closest to me. I was darker than those behind it but at the same time it has fallen flat in the piece. I plan on reworking it.
Classwork: I really enjoy the purse and skull but the background falls flat in comparison. I didn't want to put too much in the piece and ended up not putting enough.
